Extended Family Session FAQ's

What is included with an extended family session? 

Session includes 30 high resolution edited digital downloadable images and a 7x11 layflat album displaying all images picked. 

 

Can we do outfit changes? 

I do not recommend outfit changes during an extended family session as it will interrupt the flow of the session.  

 

How long will our session last?

Most extended family sessions last about 45 minutes.  I have been in the photography business for 13 years and will keep the session moving along! 

 

How do we hold our session date?

A retainer email will be sent to you via email.  A retainer of $100 is due at time of booking to hold the date.  

 

How do we pay our remaining balance?  

Remaining balance is due at the session, I will typically send out an invoice for the remaining amount at the end of the session.  I ask that the remaining balance be paid before the Zoom viewing session. 

 

How do we pick our images? 

A Zoom viewing session will be scheduled within a week of the session for you to pick out your 30 images.  

 

How do we schedule our Zoom viewing session? 

I will talk with you at the end of the session to determine the best date/time that works for everyone.  Most Zoom sessions are done within a week of the session.  

 

Once I pick my images, how long until I receive the edited images?

It typically takes 1-2 weeks to receive the high resolution digital download images via email and about 3 weeks to receive the album via mail.

 

How will the high resolution images be sent to me? 

A link will be sent out via email with instructions on how to download. 

 

Can I purchase prints? 

Prints can be purchased directly from your gallery viewing site.  

 

What happens if the weather is bad?  

I will do everything I can to reschedule the session at the earliest time.  However, due to the nature of extended family sessions and the many schedules being taken into consideration, if a reschedule date is not an option clients may request their retainer returned to them or put toward a future session.  

 

Can we include our dog in the session? 

Of course!  Please bring treats for the dog to ensure good behavior! 

 

Can we text you with questions before the session? 

Please do!  I am always happy to answer questions and text is the quickest way to reach me! My cell is 734-223-9428.  

 

Some types for a successful session: 

• If small children are included in the session… bring bribes!  I highly recommend fruit snacks as they are not messy and small! 

• Try to incorporate 2-3 complimenting colors in everyone's outfits.  I highly recommend blues, grays, whites and corals for extended family sessions.  

• Please do not all match!  This makes for very uninteresting photos.  Add different complimenting colors, layers and textures into outfits! .

• Please do not wear glasses with transition lenses!  I cannot edit those.  If someone in the session wears transition lens glasses, please have them bring a non-transition lens glasses to use instead.
