When is the best time to schedule a picture day?
Picture Day works best during the regular daycare schedule, usually in the morning when little ones are happiest and well-rested. I’ll work with staff to find the best time.

Can picture day be split into two days?
Yes! If there are a large number of children, Picture Day can be split into two days. I’ll safely store my equipment onsite between sessions so everything runs smoothly.

What kind of space do you need to set up?
If photos are taken indoors, I’ll need a small open space about the size of a conference room. A flat floor is best (carpet is fine too). If photos are taken outdoors, I’ll select the best area available and often bring a small prop, such as a ladder or chair.

Do you do indoor or outdoor photos?
I offer both indoor traditional school portraits with a backdrop and outdoor portraits with natural scenery and a prop. The facility decides which option to use. From past experience, parents often enjoy the outdoor images more.

Do you need staff to help?
Yes. I need staff to help line children up, straighten clothing, and encourage smiles. I do not bring an assistant, so staff support is very important.

Do you need a class list?
Yes, I require a printed list with children’s names to help me keep track and make sure no one is missed.

Can parents be in the photo area?
For efficiency, I ask that parents not be in the photo area during Picture Day. Children usually do best with encouragement from familiar teachers and staff..

How many poses does each child get?
Each child is photographed in 2–3 poses so parents have variety to choose from.

How do children know how to pose?
I guide them through simple, natural poses. Staff can help encourage smiles and comfort.

Can siblings be photographed together?
Yes, sibling photos are welcome!

Can children take “friend” photos?
Yes, if time allows, I can include a few fun friendship photos.

How do parents place orders?
Parents do not order before Picture Day. After photos are taken, I provide an online gallery link to the daycare to share with families. Parents can then view images and place orders directly.

How long do parents have to order?
Parents typically have about 2 weeks to place their orders before the gallery closes.

What are the costs of photo packages?
Packages start at $22, with options up to $130. Both prints and digital images are available. Digital downloads are delivered right away, while prints arrive within about 2 weeks after the order window closes.

What does the daycare receive for hosting Picture Day?
The daycare will receive complimentary group class photo in high-resolution digital format, perfect for printing or using in newsletters and year-end projects.

Does the daycare need to do anything to receive the group class photo?
Yes. The daycare simply helps by:

  • Communicate to parents about Picture Day and what is expected, time/date etc.

  • Helping organize and assist during Picture Day.

  • Providing a printed list of children’s names.

  • Sharing the online gallery link once photos are ready.

By helping spread the word and assisting on Picture Day, the daycare ensures families get their photos and the daycare receives complimentary group images
