The ideal time depends on your gym’s schedule. Many gyms prefer weekends, while others choose weekday practice times. I’m flexible and can accommodate whichever option works best for your organization.
Yes! For larger gyms (150+ athletes), I recommend splitting sessions into two consecutive days. I’ll securely store my equipment overnight in the facility. This approach ensures a smoother, more efficient experience for everyone.
I need a space roughly the size of a small conference room with a flat, non-carpeted floor (preferred). I can work on carpet, but not on gym mats. Most gyms offer a lobby, hallway, or dance studio for setup.
I bring 1–2 assistants, but having coaches help organize athletes and assist with posing keeps the day running efficiently.
The gym provides a schedule, and I photograph one team at a time, starting with individual shots and ending with the team photo.
Smaller groups (10–12 gymnasts) may take about 20 minutes, while larger groups (30+ gymnasts) may take up to 45 minutes.
Sample Schedule for a Large Gym:
9:00–9:30 — Xcel Silver & Gold (19 athletes, 2 group shots)
9:30–10:00 — Xcel Diamond & Platinum (11 athletes, 2 group shots)
10:00–10:45 — Levels 7–9 (20 athletes, 3 group shots)
10:45–11:25 — Level 4 (21 athletes)
11:25–12:00 — Level 3 (22 athletes)
12:00–12:40 — Pre-Team (20 athletes)
12:40–1:10 — All Team Photo (165 athletes)
1:10–1:40 — Shooting Stars (14 athletes)
1:40–2:20 — Level 6 (18 athletes)
2:20–3:00 — Boys’ Team (26 athletes, 2 group shots)
Note: The “all team photo” requires ample space and extra staff. It’s typically scheduled before or after all individual and team sessions.
No. To keep sessions efficient and minimize distractions, parents must remain outside the photo area.
Generally no, except for the boys’ team, who often take photos in warm-ups. This keeps the schedule on track.
I use seamless backdrops in black, white, or grey. Black is the most popular choice for its clean, professional look.
I do not recommend digital backdrops, however can discuss options if looking for something unusual.
The gym selects the backdrop color prior to Picture Day.
Yes. Parents can choose whether they want images with or without their gymnast’s name during ordering.
Each gymnast may select up to three poses for individual photos.
Gymnasts often choose poses inspired by their floor routines. I provide a large display board with 100+ pose examples, and coaches assist in selecting the best options.
Absolutely! Jump poses add excitement and personality, these are some of our most popular shots.
Yes. Sibling photos are welcome (2–3 poses typically). These are usually scheduled during one of the siblings’ team slots.
Yes, if time allows within their team’s scheduled slot. Older gymnasts especially enjoy this option.
